Description

Associate technical editor, c£60k per annum depending on experience. The role is part time (22.5 hours to 30 hours per week).

We are looking to expand our educational content team and are looking for the right candidate to join us.

To be successful you will need to have three important attributes: the ability to write well; a good knowledge of NHS finance and governance; and an inquisitive mind. 

Over the years the HFMA’s education content team has developed a reputation of producing excellent online learning to support NHS staff including finance teams. We produce online learning covering a wide range of topics from health inequalities to value, governance to financial management. 



Requirements

About the role
The post-holder will support the technical editor (education). This will involve reviewing, updating and writing online learning content as well as working with the wider education team to deliver excellent published content.

You will be able to turn often obscure and complicated issues into clear, concise, well written and accessible content. 

You will review and update the HFMA’s online learning content across the whole portfolio including the HFMA’s master’s level qualification and its flagship publication the Introductory guide to NHS finance. This requires:
•  a current knowledge of NHS finance and governance
•  independent desktop research
•  the reading and understanding of existing guidance
•  working with the HFMA Academy’s tutors
•  influencing and negotiating with the wider education team. 

About you

The successful candidate will have excellent written communication skills and be able to undertake independent research.

They will also be a great team member, working with and supporting the wider education team to produce excellent publishable content. 

We’re looking for someone who has a good general knowledge of NHS finance and governance. Applications from those who are interested in and have experience of working on/ in health inequalities, efficiency, value and digital, and the devolved nations would be particularly welcome.

Working schedule
The role is home-based and part-time. You must be organised and self-motivated, as well as being able to work virtually with colleagues. Occasional travel to meetings and events (mostly London and Bristol) will be required.
